Women's Safety: A Doubt in Today's Era

Updated: Mar 13, 2022

In the 21st century. Different advances are being made little by little by our analysts and a lot is improving. There is no field left where we do not find women. In sports, in space and much more. In addition, really interesting thing is that in every case women are not backward. They are working in tandem with men in competition.

Images of women in sports are Jahanara, Salma, Nishat Majumder, first Bangladeshi woman to climb Mount Everest and Kaniz Fatema Roksana was first Bangladeshi female pilot and first female speaker of the National Assembly of Bangladesh. Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and these different women are giving their best in their own field. However, it is incredibly bad that we are not providing them with enough security.

Violence against women has reached a peak these days due to significant amount of misconduct involving women. In recent years. Latest ASOK Records Bureau data reflects how episodes of assault increased by 15-20% (sexual assault: 3703) while various crimes increased by 5-7%. Hopefully we're just according to city. There have been incidents of violence against women in Dhaka and Narayanganj. Highest number of attacks was represented from region. Capital Dhaka, Cox's Bazar, Chittagong.

Government has implemented various guidelines and is doing so now. Yet why is violence against women not decreasing? Since government is not providing suitable workplace. "109" women's helpline although in end it cannot be reached in time Also, perpetrators were not severely punished by the government. As we speak of different countries. Sexual Harassment Discipline Saudi Arabia's perpetrators are severely punished. In Malaysia a private part of the offender is cut off and like many other countries who give horrible punishments.

In any case, it is highly undeniable that with of our country, punishment of criminals is very low till end of jail, court, date, conflict, rebellion.

When will oppression of women come to an end? Now we are losing faith that our women have to face various difficulties in this way. Violence, Sexual Harassment, Beating,

Rape, indecency. It is very dangerous that number of attacks is increasing day by day.

"Nusrat Jahan Rafi" was set on fire by spraying kerosene oil on his school in Bangladesh. Nusrat had filed a sexual harassment case against the principal 15 days ago.

Daring to speak out against sexual harassment, he was burned at stake, his death five days after the arson and what happened in it shook Bangladesh and focused on the vulnerability of victims of sexual harassment in this conservative South Asian country.

This is our country. Similarly, any form of sexual entertainment has a devastating effect on women.

So, Question still arises whether women are safe or not? Answer is "NO"!

"Changes need to be made mentally and in order to enforce law and order. Mindfulness on sexual harassment should be brought to school from adolescence," he said.

"They need to understand what is good and what is bad when it comes to pornography."

I think impossible to stop such a heinous act as sexual harassment by law alone, if you change your mindset - "Our girls will no longer be abused"
